Abstract Black Form (2018)

Sheet Metal, Spray Paint

11” x 16” x 8”

Having completed my Associates degree in Fine Arts, I enrolled in classes at The Crucible in Oakland, California. There, I delved into the art of sculpting with metal, mastering the intricacies of cutting and welding to bring my creations to life. This particular artwork was showcased at their open house in 2018.

I chose to spray paint the piece black, symbolizing the void and the unknown. As light interacts with its surface, vibrant reflections emerge. In the gleam of the bright, cloudy sky reflected on the sculpture, I perceive elements of hope and wanderlust.
